ONSIDE GAMES / PLAYER INFORMATION

Privacy policy

Updated 29 October 2026 · Onside Android · com.onsidegames.onside

Onside Games operates Onside. This policy covers the Android game, its online account and match services, and this website. Features vary between test builds. Contact onsidegame2026@gmail.com about privacy, access, corrections, deletion, or a child's information.

Accounts and online play

Online registration uses an email address, a player name, a password, and email verification codes. The account service processes these to create and protect an account, sign you in, recover access, and maintain your profile and ranking. Passwords and verification codes are sent over HTTPS. The Android app can save a refresh credential in the device's protected account storage to keep you signed in.

Online play processes account, player, room, session and match identifiers; player names; room names and codes; team assignments; readiness and connection status; moves, scores, results, ranking and match recovery information. The service and its hosting providers also process IP addresses and connection information. These data support matchmaking, room participation, synchronized play, reconnection and rankings. Features such as tournaments and spectating depend on the build.

Player names, room details and relevant match information can be visible to other players or spectators. Onside has no direct messaging or voice chat. Use a nickname and do not include your real name, email, school, address or other private information in player or room names.

Advertising and SDK data

Android builds include Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and Google's consent tools. Ads are optional in the inspected build and are used in online play when enabled. Local and LAN play do not request ads. Test builds currently use Google's test ad units. The SDK is initialized only when the ad flow is enabled and its consent checks permit requests.

When the SDK operates, Google can collect and share IP-derived approximate location, app and ad interactions, diagnostic and performance information, and device identifiers including the advertising ID where available. Google uses these for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Onside requests non-personalized ads in the inspected build; this does not mean that no information is processed. Available ad privacy choices can be opened from the online account menu. You can also turn ads off in the game.

Google Privacy Policy · Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure. Google controls its own records and applicable privacy controls; Onside Games cannot directly delete data held independently by Google.

Service providers and transfers

Onside's account service uses Supabase. Game hosting and network infrastructure, including the existing DigitalOcean online test service, process data to operate accounts and matches. Email inquiries use Google Gmail. The game can process data outside your country through these providers. This website is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure, which can process connection and request data to deliver and protect the site. This website adds no advertising or analytics scripts.

Storage and deletion

Account and ranking information remains while the account is active. Match and recovery information is retained to operate online sessions and recovery. Device preferences and locally saved game data remain until changed or removed through the app or Android storage settings.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data, or ask to delete specific information, by emailing onsidegame2026@gmail.com. Onside Games' policy is to delete all associated data it holds immediately after verifying and processing the request, with no additional retention period. Email from the account address so the request can be verified. We may ask for the minimum additional information needed to locate records or confirm that a parent is authorized to act for a child. Do not send passwords, login tokens or identity documents.

Uninstalling the app does not delete the online account. Clearing Android app storage removes device-held data, but does not delete server-held information. Read the account and data deletion instructions.

Age and online access

Onside is intended and marketed for players aged 16 and older. From version 0.1.38, account creation first asks for age in years and clearly explains that ages 16 and up enable online accounts and multiplayer, while players under 16 can use offline modes only. An under-16 answer stops registration before email, player name or password collection. The answer is converted to an age group; the exact age and date of birth are not sent to the account service. Existing accounts without an age group must complete a one-time age setup before online play.

The server stores the 16-and-older eligibility group with eligible accounts and enforces online access. The under-16 group is stored locally to keep online access blocked; unknown and under-16 players do not request ads or initialize the advertising flow. Offline modes do not require an account. The game does not offer parental-consent enrollment or an exception permitting under-16 online accounts. Older test builds should be updated.

If an older account contains information about a child, a parent or guardian can contact onsidegame2026@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion. No new parental contact or signed-form requests are accepted. Any records held from earlier test workflows remain private and are covered by authorized deletion requests. Read the age and online access information.

Security and changes

The configured account service uses HTTPS and the release match connection uses encrypted WebSockets. The app uses protected Android storage for saved account credentials where available. No transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. We update this policy when the game or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
